EXIF Remover

Remove common embedded photo metadata by re-encoding images.

How to use EXIF Remover

  1. Select one or more supported raster photos.
  2. Choose JPEG, PNG or WebP export and set quality where applicable.
  3. Re-encode the photos and download the cleaned copies; keep the originals if you need their metadata.

What this tool does

Re-encoding can change quality or color and is not a forensic guarantee.

Example

Re-encode a JPEG photo before sharing it. The result is a new raster image with common embedded metadata removed by the decode-and-export process.

Frequently asked questions

Does this remove GPS location data?

Re-encoding discards common metadata from the exported image, including common EXIF data. It is not a forensic guarantee for every file format or metadata block.

Will image quality stay identical?

Not necessarily. Re-encoding can alter quality or color, especially with lossy JPEG output. Review the result before replacing the original.
